The Patient's Goals
In a client-facing role, this 42-year-old international patient found her eyes conveyed fatigue even when she felt rested. Upper-lid hooding made the eyes look smaller, while lower-lid bags cast a shadow that read as dark circles. She wanted a refreshed, unchanged-looking result, so we planned a combined our blepharoplasty approach for both lids.
Surgeon's Expert Approach
Two principles guided the surgical plan: open the upper gaze and lift the lower shadow, while keeping the eye shape exactly as it was.
- Upper and lower correction: We removed conservative upper-lid skin and a little fat to open the gaze, then repositioned the lower fat pads to fill the tear-trough shadow that read as dark circles.
- facial fat transfer on hand: Where the tear trough needed extra softening, fine fat grafting was available to smooth the lid-cheek junction without overfilling.
- Recovery Protocol: She completed recovery with HBOT and LLLT to limit periorbital bruising before her flight home, the plan we follow for international patients travelling home, Canadians included.
