Lip Lift Results: Before and After

No data was found

As we age, the space between the nose and upper lip lengthens, and the upper lip can begin to roll inward. No amount of filler truly shortens that space. A lip lift surgically reduces the philtrum, lifting the upper lip to reveal more pink lip and a subtle amount of upper tooth show.

At AKM Clinic in Istanbul, our goal is not an exaggerated or over-filled mouth. Our Natural-First philosophy means we focus on proportion, balance, and facial harmony. For Canadian patients comparing Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, or Calgary options with Istanbul, the question is rarely just price. It is whether the result will look refined, age-appropriate, and natural in motion.

AKM Clinic in Istanbul offers a transparent, technique-specific pathway with coordinated travel support. This guide covers the technique options, the honest filler comparison, and what the scar really looks like.

What Is a Lip Lift?

A lip lift is a minor facial surgery that shortens the distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip. This distance is called the philtrum. By removing a small, carefully measured strip of skin beneath the nose, the upper lip is gently lifted upward.

The result is not simply a “bigger lip.” A surgical lip lift changes the position and visibility of the upper lip. It can improve the Cupid’s bow, reveal more of the pink lip, and create a younger-looking smile without relying on repeated filler treatments.

A lip lift surgically shortens the space between the nose and upper lip, lifting the upper lip to show more pink lip and, in many patients, a small amount of upper tooth show. Unlike filler, which adds temporary volume, a lip lift creates a lasting change in lip proportion.

International organizations such as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery track global aesthetic surgery trends and reinforce a key point: surgical demand should be matched with patient safety, realistic expectations, and qualified providers. A lip lift is small surgery, but it still belongs in that medical context.

How a Lip Lift Works

Most lip lifts are performed through a fine incision hidden along the natural crease under the nose. This is why the most common technique is called a bullhorn lip lift or subnasal lip lift. The incision follows the curve of the nostril base, allowing the scar to sit in a natural shadow.

After the skin is removed, the upper lip is elevated and closed with fine sutures. The lift is measured in millimetres. Small decisions matter here, because removing too much skin can create an over-lifted look, excessive tooth show, or a gummy smile.

The Philtrum Explained

The philtrum is the vertical space between the nose and the upper lip. In youth, this space is usually shorter, and the upper lip has more visible pink surface. With aging, gravity, skin laxity, and bone support changes can lengthen the area.

For many Canadian patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond, this change is one reason the mouth begins to look tired even when the rest of the face still looks fresh. A lip lift addresses that specific proportion. Filler does not.

Lip Lift vs Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation usually means adding volume. This may involve hyaluronic acid filler, fat transfer, or implants. A lip lift is different because it does not primarily add volume. It repositions the upper lip.

This distinction matters. A patient with a long philtrum and a thin-appearing upper lip may look heavy or puffy with filler alone. The filler adds volume, but the lip still sits too low. In that situation, a surgical lip lift may create a cleaner, more balanced change.

Lip Lift vs Lip Filler and Lip Flip

Lip filler adds temporary volume and contour. A lip flip uses botulinum toxin to relax the muscle around the upper lip, allowing a mild outward roll. Both can be useful for the right patient, but neither shortens the philtrum.

A surgical lip lift is usually the better option when the main concern is a long upper-lip distance, poor tooth show, or an upper lip that has rolled inward with age. Our consultation process helps determine whether your goal is better served by surgery, filler, or a more conservative non-surgical approach.

Why Canadians Research Lip Lift Surgery Abroad

Many Canadian patients begin locally. They may search for a lip lift in Toronto, Vancouver, or Montreal, then discover that private cosmetic surgery is paid out of pocket and often priced separately from facility, anesthesia, and follow-up fees.

Turkey offers a different model. At AKM Clinic, we provide a comprehensive care programme that includes the procedure, pre-operative testing, VIP transfers, 5-star hotel accommodation, medications, and long-term virtual follow-up. The price difference is important, but the clinical structure matters more.

Patients should still research carefully. A lip lift is small surgery, not casual beauty treatment. The surgeon must understand nasal base anatomy, smile dynamics, scar placement, and conservative measurement.

Benefits of a Lip Lift

A lip lift can create a younger, more defined upper lip without the rounded heaviness that sometimes follows repeated filler. For the right patient, the change is subtle but meaningful. You may look more refreshed, not obviously “done.”

Our approach is based on proportion. We look at the philtrum, nose, chin, teeth, smile, and lower face together. A well-planned lip lift should fit the face, not dominate it.

More Visible Pink Lip

One of the main benefits is increased vermilion show. This means more of the pink upper lip becomes visible. The lip can look naturally fuller even though no filler has been added.

This is especially helpful for patients whose upper lip has become hidden or turned inward with age. The result should be soft, not inflated.

Improved Upper Tooth Show

A youthful smile often shows a small amount of upper teeth when the lips are relaxed or lightly parted. As the philtrum lengthens, the upper lip can cover the teeth more fully. This may make the lower face look heavier or older.

A conservative lip lift can restore a small amount of tooth show. The key word is conservative. Too much lift may expose too much gum or create an unnatural smile.

Ready to Discuss Your Lip Lift?

We recommend scheduling your virtual consultation in advance, to allow ample time to thoughtfully coordinate your procedure and travel arrangements from Canada.

A More Defined Cupid’s Bow

The Cupid’s bow is the central curve of the upper lip. A lip lift can make this area more visible by elevating the central upper lip. It does not need to create a sharp or artificial shape.

At AKM Clinic, we avoid template-based lip surgery. We plan the lift around your existing anatomy, not a social-media trend.

A Permanent Alternative to Repeated Filler

Filler can be useful, but it is temporary. Many patients return every 6 to 12 months for maintenance. Over time, some feel their lip looks heavier rather than better proportioned.

A lip lift offers a longer-term structural change. It does not replace filler in every case, but it can reduce the need for repeated volume-based correction when the real issue is philtrum length.

Better Facial Balance

The upper lip sits at the centre of the face. A small proportional change can affect how the nose, chin, and smile are perceived. This is why lip lift planning often overlaps with rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, buccal fat removal, or fat transfer to the face.

We do not recommend combining procedures just to do more. We recommend combinations only when they improve harmony and reduce the need for multiple recovery periods.

Are You a Good Candidate for Lip Lift?

Answer a few brief questions about your concerns, medical history, and goals to learn which procedure options may suit you best.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Lip Lift?

A good lip lift candidate usually has a longer philtrum, limited upper tooth show, or an upper lip that appears thin because it has rolled inward. The best candidates are not simply looking for “bigger lips.” They want better proportion between the nose, upper lip, lower lip, and chin.

During your virtual consultation, we assess your lip length, smile pattern, nostril base, gum show, previous filler history, and overall facial balance. A lip lift is measured in millimetres, so candidacy depends on precision. Small differences matter.

Long Philtrum

The clearest sign is a long distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip. This distance often increases with age, but some patients naturally have a longer philtrum from early adulthood. In both cases, filler can make the lip look heavier without correcting the actual proportion.

A lip lift shortens this distance. The goal is not to create an artificial upper lip. The goal is to restore a more youthful balance between the nose and mouth.

Thin or Aging Upper Lip

Some patients describe their upper lip as “disappearing” when they smile or speak. In many cases, the issue is not lack of lip tissue. The lip has rotated inward and sits too low.

A surgical lip lift can reveal more of the natural pink lip. This may create the appearance of fullness without adding filler volume. For patients who dislike the swollen look of filler, this distinction is important.

Reduced Upper Tooth Show

A youthful resting mouth often shows a subtle amount of upper teeth. With aging, the upper lip may hang lower and cover the teeth. This can make the lower face look heavier or more tired.

A conservative lift can improve upper tooth show. We avoid aggressive lifting because too much tooth or gum exposure can look unnatural. A good result should still look relaxed when you speak, smile, or rest your face.

On request, we can connect you with a former Canadian or international patient to discuss their Lip Lift experience at AKM Clinic.

Downturned Mouth Corners

Some patients are bothered less by the centre of the lip and more by the corners of the mouth. Downturned corners can create a sad or stern expression, even when the person feels neutral.

In this case, a corner lip lift may be more appropriate than a bullhorn lip lift. Some patients need both, but we decide this carefully. Over-correcting the corners can create a fixed or unnatural smile.

Patients Who Have Had Too Much Filler

Many Canadian patients come to us after several years of lip filler. They may feel that the lip looks puffy, heavy, or less defined than before. Sometimes the real concern is a long philtrum, not volume loss.

In selected cases, we recommend dissolving filler before planning surgery. This helps us see the true lip shape and measure accurately. Surgery should be planned from anatomy, not from distorted filler volume.

When Filler or a Lip Flip Is Better Instead

Not every patient needs surgery. If the philtrum is already short, a lip lift may create too much tooth show or expose too much gum. In that case, a small amount of filler or a temporary lip flip may be safer and more appropriate.

A lip flip can help patients who want a mild outward roll without surgery. Filler can help patients who need volume rather than shortening. The right choice depends on the problem being treated.

When a Lip Lift Is Not Recommended

We may advise against a lip lift if your upper lip is already short, if you have significant gummy smile, or if your nasal base anatomy makes the scar difficult to hide. Active smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, poor wound healing, and unrealistic expectations can also make surgery unsafe or unsuitable.

This is where honest consultation matters. Our role is not to approve every request. It is to recommend the option that protects your facial balance and long-term result.

“A lip lift should be planned from the whole lower face, not from the upper lip alone. We measure the philtrum, tooth show, smile, nostril base, and chin relationship before deciding how much lift is safe.”

Lip lift techniques compared: bullhorn shortens the philtrum, corner lift raises mouth corners, while filler and lip flip offer temporary enhancement.

Lip Lift Techniques + Surgical vs Filler vs Flip: The Decision

Lip lift surgery is not one technique. The right method depends on where the lip needs improvement. Some patients need central upper-lip elevation, some need mouth-corner support, and some need only a small mucosal advancement without an external incision.

The most common technique is the bullhorn, or subnasal, lip lift. It is the best-known option because it shortens the philtrum directly and hides the scar beneath the nose. Other approaches can help more specific concerns.

The Technique-Matching Framework

We begin with one question: what is the real problem? If the philtrum is long, a bullhorn lift usually makes the most sense. If the mouth corners turn down, a corner lip lift may be better. If the patient wants no external scar and accepts a smaller effect, a V-to-Y mucosal advancement may be discussed.

This decision should never be based on trend names alone. The safest plan matches technique to anatomy.

We recommend scheduling your virtual consultation in advance, to allow ample time to thoughtfully coordinate your procedure and travel arrangements from Canada.

Bullhorn / Subnasal Lip Lift

The bullhorn lip lift removes a small strip of skin from beneath the nose. The shape resembles a bullhorn because it follows the natural curve of the nostril base. This allows the scar to sit in a crease rather than across the visible upper lip.

This technique is best for patients with a long philtrum or reduced upper tooth show. It offers the most direct and predictable way to lift the upper lip. It also requires excellent scar planning.

Corner Lip Lift

A corner lip lift targets the outer edges of the mouth. It can soften a downturned expression and create a more neutral resting face. This is not the right operation for someone whose main concern is a long philtrum.

The incisions are small and sit at the mouth corners. Because this area moves when you speak and smile, closure technique and aftercare matter. We plan conservatively to avoid a stretched or fixed look.

Italian Lip Lift

The Italian lip lift uses two small incisions under the nostrils instead of one continuous bullhorn incision. It may suit patients who need a more subtle central lift. It can also be useful when scar distribution matters.

The trade-off is that it may provide less lifting power than a classic bullhorn approach. During consultation, we explain this clearly. A smaller incision is not automatically a better operation.

V-to-Y Lip Lift

A V-to-Y mucosal advancement is performed inside the mouth. It advances inner lip tissue outward, so it does not create an external scar. This is why some patients call it a “scarless lip lift.”

The wording can be misleading. It avoids an external skin scar, but it does not shorten the philtrum the way a subnasal lift does. For true philtrum shortening, a bullhorn lift remains more effective.

Surgical Lip Lift vs Lip Filler

Lip filler adds temporary volume. It can improve border definition, mild asymmetry, and softness. It does not remove skin, shorten the philtrum, or lift the lip position.

A lip lift changes structure. It is better for patients whose upper lip sits too low or who have poor tooth show. Filler and surgery can sometimes work together, but filler should not be used to hide a long philtrum indefinitely.

Canadian patients should also understand that dermal fillers and botulinum toxin products are regulated medical treatments. Health Canada’s cosmetic injections guidance explains why injectables should be provided by qualified health care professionals and treated as medical procedures, not casual beauty services.

Surgical Lip Lift vs Lip Flip

A lip flip uses botulinum toxin to relax part of the muscle around the mouth. This can allow the upper lip to roll outward slightly. The effect is temporary and usually subtle.

A lip flip may suit patients who want a test run before surgery, or those with a short philtrum who should not undergo a lift. It does not create the same change as a surgical lip lift. It also needs repeat treatment.

Lip FlipUses botulinum toxin to relax the upper-lip muscleMild lip eversion, short-term trial, subtle changeUsually 2 to 4 monthsLimited effect and repeat maintenanceUseful for selected patients who do not need surgery

Which Approach Fits Which Goal?

If your goal is a shorter philtrum and more upper tooth show, surgery is usually the most logical option. If your goal is softness or volume, filler may be enough. If your goal is a temporary, subtle outward roll, a lip flip may be reasonable.

Our consultation process is designed to make that decision clear. We do not recommend a surgical lip lift when a non-surgical option would protect facial balance better. We also do not recommend filler when the real issue is structural length.

“Filler can make a lip larger, but it cannot make the philtrum shorter. A good consultation separates volume problems from proportion problems before choosing treatment.”

A lip lift can shorten a long philtrum, reveal more upper lip, restore natural tooth show, and improve mouth-corner balance.

What a Lip Lift Addresses

A lip lift is a focused procedure. It treats the relationship between the nose, upper lip, teeth, and lower face. It does not correct every lip concern, and that distinction helps prevent disappointment.

The best results come from choosing the right tool for the right problem. Some patients need surgical lifting. Others need filler, skin care, fat transfer, or no procedure at all.

Long Philtrum

The main concern a lip lift addresses is a long philtrum. This is the vertical distance from the base of the nose to the upper lip. A longer philtrum can make the mouth look flatter, older, or less expressive.

By shortening this distance, a lip lift restores a more youthful proportion. The change is measured in millimetres. That is why conservative planning matters so much.

Thin or Inward-Rolling Upper Lip

An upper lip can look thin even when the patient has enough natural lip tissue. This often happens because the lip rolls inward or sits too low. Adding filler may create bulk, but it may not reveal the natural lip.

A lip lift can rotate the upper lip outward. This reveals more of the pink lip surface without necessarily adding volume. The result should look integrated with the rest of the face.

Travelling Solo for Your Lip Lift?

You’re fully supported. Our 24/7 patient coordinators and English-speaking staff stay by your side from your arrival in Istanbul to your departure for Canada.

Reduced Tooth Show

Many patients notice that their upper teeth show less when they speak, smile, or rest their lips. This can happen with aging or natural anatomy. The upper lip hangs lower, covering the teeth.

A carefully planned upper lip lift can restore a small amount of tooth show. This can make the smile look lighter and more youthful. Too much tooth show, however, can look unnatural.

Downturned Mouth Corners

Downturned mouth corners can create a tired, sad, or stern resting expression. A standard bullhorn lift does not always correct this. A corner lip lift may be a better fit when the outer mouth corners are the main concern.

Corner lifting requires restraint. The mouth corners move constantly when speaking and eating. Our planning aims for a softer resting expression, not a fixed smile.

What a Lip Lift Does Not Address

A lip lift does not add lower-lip volume. It does not improve skin texture around the mouth the way laser resurfacing or regenerative treatments can. It also does not replace a full facial balancing plan when the chin, nose, cheeks, or jawline affect the final appearance.

For patients who have volume loss in the cheeks or lower face, we may discuss fat transfer to the face. For patients whose mouth proportions are affected by facial slimming or cheek fullness, buccal fat removal may be reviewed carefully, but never as a default recommendation.

Lip lift can be combined with rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, lip filler, or buccal fat removal when anatomy supports a balanced facial plan.

Combined Procedures: Lip Lift + Other Treatments

A lip lift can be performed on its own, but some patients benefit from combining it with another facial procedure. The decision should come from anatomy, not convenience. We only recommend combined procedures when they improve facial harmony and keep the recovery plan safe.

For Canadians travelling to Istanbul, a combined plan may reduce total travel time and avoid multiple recovery periods. It also requires more careful planning, especially when the nose, chin, cheeks, and upper lip all affect the same profile.

Lip Lift + Rhinoplasty

The nose and upper lip are closely connected. A rhinoplasty can change the nasal tip, columella, and nostril base, which may affect how the upper lip appears. A lip lift changes the opposite side of that same facial relationship.

When both are needed, we plan the sequence carefully. Some patients benefit from a combined nose-lip profile plan, while others should stage the procedures. Learn more about nasal profile planning in our rhinoplasty in Turkey for Canadians guide.

Lip Lift + Chin Augmentation

The upper lip does not exist in isolation. A weak chin, recessed lower face, or poor chin-lip balance can make the mouth look less defined. In selected patients, chin augmentation may improve the full lower-face profile more than lip surgery alone.

This is especially relevant for side-profile concerns. A lip lift may improve the upper lip, while chin augmentation supports the lower third of the face. We review these proportions during consultation.

Maximize Your Travel: Combine Your Lip Lift
Many of our patients combine their Lip Lift with others for more comprehensive results. Ask us about our customizable surgical packages.

Lip Lift + Lip Filler

A lip lift and lip filler can work together, but they do different jobs. The lift shortens the philtrum and improves lip position. Filler adds volume or refines the border.

We usually avoid adding filler too soon after surgery. The lip must heal first. Once swelling settles, a small amount of filler may be considered if the patient wants more softness or contour.

Lip Lift + Buccal Fat Removal

Some patients considering lip lift are also interested in facial contouring. Buccal fat removal can reduce lower-cheek fullness, but it must be approached with caution. Removing too much facial fat can age the face over time.

A lip lift may improve the mouth area, while buccal fat removal changes cheek shape. These procedures should only be combined when the patient has the right facial fullness, age profile, and long-term anatomy.

Concerned About General Anesthesia? Consider an Awake Lip Lift
Undergo your Lip Lift using local anesthesia, and benefit from a recovery that's often quicker, with reduced post-operative grogginess and a focus on natural-looking results.

Anesthesia for Lip Lift: Local Anesthesia

Most lip lifts can be performed under local anesthesia. This makes the procedure lighter than many larger facial surgeries. You remain comfortable while the surgical area is fully numbed.

For international patients, local anesthesia is often appealing because recovery is usually faster and there is no prolonged grogginess. The procedure is still surgery. It still requires medical screening, sterile technique, and a qualified surgical team.

Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia numbs the upper-lip and nasal-base area. You should not feel sharp pain during surgery. You may feel pressure, movement, or gentle pulling.

This approach avoids the systemic load of general anesthesia. It also supports a shorter observation period after surgery. Most isolated lip lift patients can return to the hotel the same day, after our team confirms they are stable.

Optional Sedation for Anxious Patients

Some patients feel nervous about being awake during facial surgery. In selected cases, mild sedation can be discussed. The decision depends on your medical history, anxiety level, procedure combination, and surgeon recommendation.

Sedation is not used casually. We balance comfort with safety. If you are travelling from Canada, your pre-operative assessment helps us identify the safest anesthesia pathway before your surgery date.

Pre-Anesthesia Assessment for Canadian Patients

Before surgery, we review your medical history, medications, allergies, smoking status, previous surgeries, and any history of abnormal scarring. We also ask about blood thinners, supplements, and recent injectable treatments.

If you have a complex medical history, we may recommend speaking with your Canadian family physician before travelling. This is not a barrier for most patients. It is part of safe planning.

Comfort During the Procedure

A lip lift is usually short. Most patients tolerate it well under local anesthesia. Our team explains each step before it happens, so you are not surprised by normal pressure or movement.

Comfort also depends on trust. Your coordinator stays available, and our surgical team keeps the environment calm, private, and medically controlled.

Lip lift surgery step-by-step infographic showing pre-operative marking, local anesthesia, skin removal, lip elevation, closure, and procedure length.
Lip lift surgery usually involves precise marking, local anesthesia, careful skin removal, upper-lip elevation, fine closure, and a 45–60 minute procedure time.

Step-by-Step: What Happens During a Lip Lift?

A lip lift is technically small but visually powerful. The incision is short, yet the result sits in the centre of the face. Precision matters more than speed.

At AKM Clinic, every lip lift begins with proportion planning. We study the philtrum, nostril base, Cupid’s bow, tooth show, smile animation, and existing scars or filler history.

Step 1: Pre-Operative Marking

Your surgeon marks the planned skin removal while you are upright. This is important because the lip and nose sit differently when you are lying down. The markings show how much skin will be removed and where the incision will sit.

For a bullhorn lift, the design follows the natural curve under the nose. For a corner lift, the markings sit at the outer mouth corners. The plan is reviewed before anesthesia begins.

Step 2: Local Anesthesia

The treatment area is cleaned and numbed. You may feel a brief sting from the anesthetic injection. After that, the area becomes numb and comfortable.

We wait until the anesthesia is fully active before starting. This step is never rushed. Patient comfort is part of surgical safety.

Step 3: Precise Skin Removal

For a bullhorn lip lift, a narrow strip of skin is removed from the area beneath the nose. The amount is small but carefully calculated. Removing too little may create minimal change. Removing too much may distort the smile.

For a corner lip lift, a small section of skin is removed near each mouth corner. For a V-to-Y advancement, the work is performed inside the mouth rather than through an external skin incision.

A Comprehensive Guide to Lip Lift

From procedure steps to post-operative aftercare, review all the details on how we perform this procedure at our clinic in Istanbul.

Step 4: Lip Elevation and Tissue Control

Once the skin is removed, the upper lip is lifted into its new position. The deeper tissue support is handled gently to avoid excessive tension on the skin closure. This helps protect the scar.

Tension control is one of the most important technical details. If the closure is too tight, the scar may widen or the nostril base may look distorted. We plan the lift to respect the natural movement of the mouth.

Step 5: Meticulous Closure

The incision is closed in layers with fine sutures. The goal is a thin scar that matures into the natural crease beneath the nose. Good closure is as important as the lift itself.

You receive aftercare instructions before leaving the clinic or hospital setting. These include cleaning, activity limits, swelling control, and when to return for review.

Step 6: Procedure Length

An isolated lip lift usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Combined procedures take longer. For example, a lip lift performed with rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, or facial fat transfer requires a different anesthesia and recovery plan.

Your final timing is confirmed after your surgical plan is approved. We avoid compressing complex combinations into unrealistic schedules.

“The incision is small, but the planning is not. A lip lift changes how the mouth relates to the nose, teeth, and chin, so we treat millimetres as meaningful surgical decisions.”

Lip lift recovery timeline for Canadian patients showing swelling, suture check, fit-to-fly clearance, scar fading, and final results.
Lip lift recovery usually includes early swelling, suture review, fit-to-fly assessment, scar fading, and long-term virtual follow-up.

Lip Lift Recovery: Timeline for Canadian Patients

Lip lift recovery is usually shorter than facelift or rhinoplasty recovery, but the first week still matters. Swelling, tightness, and visible sutures are normal early on. Most patients need several days of quiet recovery before they feel comfortable socially.

For Canadians travelling to Istanbul, we build the timeline around safe healing and return travel. We do not base fit-to-fly clearance only on the calendar. We check swelling, incision condition, comfort, and overall health first.

Days 0–3: Swelling, Tightness, and Rest

The first three days bring the most swelling. The upper lip may feel tight, stiff, or slightly uneven. This is expected, especially because the mouth moves constantly during speaking and eating.

We recommend soft foods, gentle oral hygiene, head elevation, and limited facial movement. Avoid stretching the mouth widely. Do not smoke, vape, or use straws during early healing unless your surgeon clears it.

Days 5–7: Suture Check and Early Scar Review

Sutures are usually checked during the first week. Some are removed, while others may dissolve depending on the technique. The incision may still look pink, firm, or slightly raised.

This is not the final scar. Early redness does not predict a poor result. Scar maturation takes months, not days.

Our HBOT/LLLT Recovery Protocol

Our recovery programme may include Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Low-Level Laser Therapy when clinically appropriate. HBOT supports tissue oxygenation and helps reduce inflammation. LLLT uses 424 medical-grade semiconductor laser diodes at 650 nm to stimulate cellular repair.

For a lip lift, LLLT is especially relevant for incision recovery. It supports the healing environment around the nasal-base scar. Patients who want a deeper explanation can review our technology and standards page or our guide on how LLLT can help minimize scars.

We may also recommend HBOT for patients having a lip lift as part of a larger facial procedure. The protocol is tailored to the treatment plan, not applied automatically to every patient.

Day 5–7: Fit-to-Fly Clearance for Canadian Return Travel

Many isolated lip lift patients can be considered for return travel around the first week. That depends on swelling, bleeding risk, comfort, and whether the procedure was combined with another surgery. Combined procedures often require a longer stay.

Before you fly home to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, or another Canadian city, we provide specific instructions for incision care, hydration, movement during the flight, and what to monitor after landing. Our flight safety after surgery guide explains the wider travel considerations for Canadian patients.

Optimize Your Awake Gynecomastia Recovery

We utilize advanced Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to help minimize downtime and support your body’s natural healing process. Patient safety remains our highest priority.

Weeks 2–4: Swelling Subsides

By the second and third weeks, swelling usually improves enough that patients feel more comfortable on video calls or in low-key social settings. The scar may still be pink. Makeup may be allowed once the incision is fully closed and your surgeon approves it.

Avoid heavy exercise, facial massage, dental work, and aggressive mouth stretching until you are cleared. The incision is still gaining strength during this period.

Months 1–3: Scar Begins to Fade

At one to three months, the lip position begins to look more natural. Tightness softens. The scar usually starts to flatten and fade, although it may still be visible in certain lighting.

This is also when patients may notice how the lip moves during speech and smiling. A well-planned result should settle into normal expression rather than look stiff.

Months 3–12: Final Result and Scar Maturation

Final scar maturation can take up to a year. The scar usually becomes lighter, softer, and less noticeable over time. Sun protection is important because UV exposure can darken healing scars.

Your follow-up continues after you return to Canada. Our long-term virtual programme includes scheduled check-ins at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months, so your healing is monitored beyond your Istanbul stay.

Lip Lift Scars & Botched Results: The Honest Truth

The scar is the main concern for many lip lift patients, and it should be discussed before surgery. A lip lift can create a beautiful proportion change, but it is still an incision on the centre of the face. Good planning does not pretend the scar does not exist.

Our approach is direct. We place the incision where it can hide best, close it with minimal tension, and support healing with structured aftercare. We also explain what can go wrong, because informed patients make safer decisions.

Where the Scar Is

In a bullhorn or subnasal lip lift, the scar sits under the nose. It follows the natural curve of the nostril base and columella. This placement helps the scar blend into a crease and shadow rather than crossing the visible lip.

Early on, the scar may look pink, firm, or slightly raised. That is normal. The scar usually softens and fades over several months, but every patient heals differently.

The Scar Maturation Timeline

At one week, the scar is still new. It may look red, shiny, or uneven, especially after suture removal. This is not the final appearance.

At one to three months, the scar often begins to flatten. It may still be visible in bright light or close-up photos. By six to twelve months, many patients see significant fading, although scar quality depends on genetics, skin tone, sun exposure, smoking status, and aftercare.

Why “Scarless Lip Lift” Is Only Partly True

Some patients search for a scarless lip lift. The closest option is a V-to-Y mucosal advancement because the incision is inside the mouth. It avoids an external skin scar.

That does not make it equivalent to a bullhorn lift. V-to-Y can add mild outward advancement, but it does not shorten the philtrum as directly. A true subnasal lip lift creates an external scar, even when that scar is planned to be fine and well hidden.

What a Botched Lip Lift Usually Means

A botched lip lift usually involves one of several problems: too much skin removed, excessive tooth show, visible gum show, nostril-base distortion, asymmetry, or a widened scar. These problems are often related to aggressive measurement or poor closure technique.

This is why “more lift” is not always better. The upper lip must still move naturally when you speak, smile, and eat. A result that looks dramatic in a still photo may not look natural in real life.

Over-Lift, Tooth Show, and Gummy Reveal

Upper tooth show can be attractive when subtle. Too much can make the mouth look tense or surprised. If the lift is too aggressive, the upper lip may sit too high and reveal more gum than intended.

We measure conservatively to protect smile dynamics. Patients with an existing gummy smile need special caution. In some cases, we may recommend a different approach instead of surgery.

Distorted Nostril Base

The bullhorn incision sits close to the nostril base, so careless planning can pull on the nose. This may create nostril widening, asymmetry, or a distorted nasal sill. These changes are avoidable with careful design and tension control.

We evaluate the nose-lip relationship before surgery. If a patient is also planning rhinoplasty, we coordinate the sequence carefully because the nose and upper lip affect each other visually.

Why Conservative Measurement Prevents Over-Lift

The safest lip lift is planned in millimetres, not trends. We consider the patient’s age, dental show, philtrum length, gum exposure, nasal base, and lower-face proportions. The goal is balance, not maximum shortening.

Conservative measurement also protects revision options. If too little is lifted, a small revision may be possible later. If too much is removed, correction becomes more difficult.

“The best lip lift is often the one that looks slightly understated. If the upper lip is over-lifted, the result may look artificial at rest and during speech. Conservative measurement protects both beauty and function.”

Our LLLT Scar-Minimization Protocol

Low-Level Laser Therapy can support incision healing by stimulating cellular repair. At AKM Clinic, we may use LLLT as part of the recovery protocol when clinically appropriate. This is especially relevant for a subnasal scar because even a small incision sits in a highly visible area.

LLLT does not erase scars. It supports a better healing environment. Patients can read more in our LLLT scar-minimization guide, and the broader technology framework is explained on our technology and standards page.

How We Reduce Risk

Risk reduction starts before surgery. We assess smoking, diabetes, wound-healing history, prior filler, skin quality, and facial anatomy. We also avoid aggressive lifting when the anatomy does not support it.

During surgery, we use sterile technique, careful tissue handling, and layered closure. After surgery, we provide written instructions, photo-based follow-up, and long-term virtual monitoring for Canadian patients.

A safe lip lift in Turkey depends on verified surgeons, transparent surgical responsibility, accredited facilities, precise planning, and structured follow-up after returning to Canada.

Is It Safe to Get a Lip Lift in Turkey? A Canadian’s Honest Look

Yes, a lip lift in Turkey can be safe when the clinic, surgeon, facility, and aftercare system meet high standards. It is not safe simply because the destination is popular. Canadian patients should verify credentials and protocols before booking anywhere, including Turkey.

We understand the concern. Canadians are used to provincial medical regulation, RCPSC-recognized specialist pathways, and clear complaint structures. Travelling abroad requires a different verification process, so the burden of proof should be higher.

The Turkey Cosmetic Surgery Reality

Turkey has excellent surgeons and also high-volume clinics that may not meet the standard a Canadian patient expects. Both things can be true. A safe decision depends on choosing the right provider, not assuming every clinic is the same.

At AKM Clinic, our model is surgeon-led, documentation-based, and structured for international follow-up. Patients who want a broader safety framework can read our guide on whether plastic surgery in Turkey is safe.

Why Precision Matters More in Lip Lift Surgery

A lip lift is small, but it is unforgiving. The incision sits close to the nose, the result affects the smile, and the measurement margin is narrow. This makes surgeon judgement more important than procedure length.

The safest surgeon is not the one who promises the biggest change. It is the one who knows when to lift less, when to refuse surgery, and when filler or a lip flip is more appropriate.

Ghost Surgery in Facial Procedures

Ghost surgery means the patient believes one surgeon is operating, but someone else performs all or part of the procedure. This is one of the most important risks Canadians should ask about when evaluating clinics abroad.

We support named-surgeon transparency. You should know who is assessing you, who is operating, and who is responsible for follow-up. Our related guide on ghost surgery in Turkey explains what to ask before booking.

Surgeon Credentials and Verification

Canadian patients often understand FRCSC and RCPSC language but may not know European credential structures. That is normal. The key is to compare training depth, board certification, specialty scope, and facility standards rather than relying on marketing titles.

Our European Board-Certified Surgeons work within an international surgical framework. In the surgeon checklist section below, we explain how Canadian patients can compare EBOPRAS-style credentialing with RCPSC expectations before making a decision.

Facility Standards and Documentation

A safe lip lift needs more than a skilled hand. It needs sterile instruments, proper monitoring, documented consent, clear operative notes, and post-operative instructions that you can take home to Canada.

We operate through JCI-aligned standards and provide structured documentation for international patients. This matters if you need to speak with your Canadian family physician after returning home.

What Canadian Patients Should Verify Before Booking

Before booking a lip lift abroad, ask direct questions. Who is the surgeon of record? What technique is being recommended, and why? Where is the incision placed? What is the revision policy? How is follow-up handled after you return to Canada?

Also ask what happens if the surgeon thinks you are not a good candidate. A clinic that says yes to every request is not protecting you. A safe clinic must be willing to say no.

Lip lift before and after results can show a shorter philtrum, more visible upper lip, and improved facial balance.

Lip Lift Before and After: Realistic Expectations & Results

A lip lift can make the upper lip look younger, more visible, and better proportioned. It should not make the mouth look stretched, frozen, or obviously altered. The best result is usually the one that looks natural in conversation, not only in a still photo.

At AKM Clinic, we plan lip lift results around facial harmony. We look at the nose, chin, teeth, lower lip, smile, and existing facial proportions before deciding how much lift is appropriate. A few millimetres can change the result.

Lip Lift Before and After: What Changes?

Before surgery, many patients have a long philtrum, limited upper tooth show, and an upper lip that appears thin or rolled inward. After surgery, the upper lip sits higher and reveals more of the pink lip. The smile may look lighter and more youthful.

The change is usually more structural than volumizing. That means the lip may look fuller without the rounded projection of filler. Patients who want dramatic volume may still need filler later, but only after healing and only when it fits the final proportion.

Corner Lip Lift Before and After

A corner lip lift changes the outer mouth corners rather than the centre of the upper lip. Before surgery, the mouth may look downturned or tired at rest. After surgery, the corners can sit in a more neutral position.

The goal is not to create a constant smile. That can look unnatural. A good corner lip lift softens a sad or stern resting expression while preserving normal movement.

Bullhorn Lip Lift Before and After

A bullhorn lip lift creates the clearest change in philtrum length. The upper lip is lifted from beneath the nose, which helps reveal more central pink lip and improve tooth show. This is why it is the most common lip lift technique.

Before-and-after photos should be reviewed carefully. Look at the scar, nostril base, tooth show, gum exposure, and smile movement. A strong result is not just a higher lip. It is a natural relationship between the lip and the rest of the face.

Is a Lip Lift Permanent?

Yes, a surgical lip lift is considered permanent because the removed skin does not grow back. The lip position changes structurally. That makes it very different from filler or a lip flip, which require maintenance.

Permanent does not mean frozen in time. Your face will continue to age naturally. Skin quality, sun exposure, smoking, weight changes, dental support, and genetics can all influence how the result looks years later.

Subtle vs Over-Done Results

Subtle lip lifts tend to age better. They preserve normal speech, smile dynamics, and facial balance. Over-done results may show too much tooth or gum, distort the nostril base, or make the mouth look tense at rest.

Our Natural-First philosophy is especially important here. The lip sits in the centre of the face. If it looks over-operated, the entire face can look less natural.

Before & After Gallery

Before-and-after images can help you understand realistic ranges, but they should never replace a surgical assessment. Two patients can have similar philtrum length and still need different lift amounts because their teeth, gums, nose, and chin differ.

We encourage Canadian patients to review examples with the surgeon during consultation and ask direct questions about scars, healing stage, lighting, and technique used. You can also review our before-and-after gallery for visual context when available.

“A lip lift is permanent, so the safest aesthetic is measured and conservative. We want the patient to look refreshed, not as if the upper lip has been pulled too high.”

Lip Lift Cost 2026: Turkey vs Canada

Canadian patients researching lip lift cost often compare private clinics in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, or Calgary before looking at Istanbul. In Canada, lip lift surgery is usually a private-pay cosmetic procedure, so provincial health plans such as OHIP, MSP, AHCIP, and RAMQ generally do not cover it.

At AKM Clinic, technique-level lip lift pricing starts at CAD $2,750 for a Corner Lip Lift. A Bullhorn / Subnasal Lip Lift is CAD $3,400, and an Italian Lip Lift is also CAD $3,400. Gullwing and V-Y Mucosal Advancement techniques are listed at CAD $4,100. Final recommendation depends on anatomy, scar preference, and the amount of lift needed.

By comparison, Toronto and Vancouver private lip lift pricing commonly falls in the CAD $4,500–$6,000 range, often before patients account for consultation, facility, anesthesia, medication, or follow-up fees. In Istanbul, our comprehensive care programme is designed to make the total pathway clearer: procedure planning, pre-operative testing, VIP transfers, hotel coordination, medications, and remote follow-up are organized through one clinical team.

Location / OptionTypical Cost RangeWhat Patients Should Check

A lip lift should not be chosen on price alone. This is a permanent facial procedure with a visible scar location. The better question is whether the surgeon measures conservatively, explains alternatives honestly, and has a clear plan if you return to Canada during scar maturation.

For a deeper fee breakdown, see our lip lift cost guide. Patients considering a bundled clinical pathway can also review the lip lift all-inclusive package. Canadian-dollar pricing shown for planning clarity; your coordinator will confirm the final payment details before booking.

How to Find the Best Lip Lift Surgeon in Turkey: A Canadian Patient’s Checklist

Many Canadian patients start by searching for a lip lift surgeon near home, then compare that with Turkey after seeing the total cost, wait time, and availability of facial sub-specialists. That comparison is reasonable. The key is to verify training, facility standards, technique judgement, and aftercare before choosing any surgeon.

A lip lift is not a large operation, but it is a high-visibility one. The incision sits under the nose, and the result affects your smile. The surgeon must understand facial proportions, scar placement, and conservative measurement.

Check Surgical Credentials, Not Marketing Titles

In Canada, patients often recognize RCPSC and FRCSC language. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is the national body Canadians commonly associate with specialist training standards. When you evaluate a surgeon abroad, compare their training pathway, board certification, specialty focus, and continuing education rather than relying on broad marketing labels.

At AKM Clinic, our facial procedures are performed by European Board-Certified Surgeons and facial specialists working within an international surgical framework. During consultation, you should feel comfortable asking who will operate, what their specialty is, and how often they perform facial procedures.

Look for Facial Sub-Specialization

A lip lift sits at the junction of the nose, mouth, teeth, and lower face. This is facial surgery, not simple skin removal. A surgeon who routinely works with rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, and scar placement will usually have a stronger understanding of this area.

The Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons’ guidance on choosing a plastic surgeon is useful for Canadian patients comparing credentials and verifying specialist status. Lip lift planning should follow the same principle: confirm real training, not just a title.

Ask About Conservative Measurement Philosophy

The most important question is not “how much can you lift?” It is “how much lift is safe for my face?” A skilled surgeon measures the philtrum, upper tooth show, gum exposure, nostril base, and lower-face proportions before deciding on skin removal.

Be cautious if a clinic promises a dramatic lift before examining your smile. Over-lifting can be difficult to correct. A conservative plan protects your ability to speak, smile, and age naturally.

Entrust Your Lip Lift to Specialist Surgeons

Approach your procedure with confidence. Meet our specialist surgeons, who have performed over 2,000 surgical procedures.

Confirm the Technique Range

A clinic that offers only one technique may try to fit every patient into that method. A strong consultation should explain why a bullhorn, corner, Italian, or V-to-Y approach is best for your anatomy. It should also explain why another option may be less suitable.

Ask these questions before booking:

  • Is my main issue philtrum length, lip volume, or mouth-corner position?
  • Where will the incision be placed?
  • How many millimetres will be removed, and why?
  • Would filler or lip flip be safer for my anatomy?
  • What is the plan if the scar heals thick or red?

Review Before-and-After Documentation Carefully

Before-and-after photos should show more than lip height. Look for the scar position, nostril base, tooth show, gum exposure, and smile movement. Ask how long after surgery the “after” photo was taken.

We encourage patients to review verified experiences and clinical documentation, not just polished social media images. Our professional plastic surgery reviews page can help Canadian patients understand how real international patients describe their care experience.

Make Sure Aftercare Continues After You Return to Canada

A lip lift scar matures over months. You should not be left alone after the first week. Ask whether the clinic provides virtual follow-up, photo review, scar guidance, and a clear point of contact after you return home.

Our long-term follow-up programme includes scheduled virtual check-ins at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. Your coordinator remains available for questions, and our team can provide documentation you may share with your Canadian family physician when needed.

Red Flags to Avoid

Avoid clinics that cannot name the operating surgeon, refuse to discuss scar risk, push surgery without assessing your smile, or promise a “scarless” bullhorn lift. Also be cautious with clinics that treat a lip lift as a quick beauty service rather than facial surgery.

A safe provider should be willing to say no. If your philtrum is already short, your gum show is high, or filler would give a safer result, surgery may not be the right choice.

From virtual consultation in Canada to fit-to-fly clearance in Istanbul, each lip lift step is planned for safety, comfort, and follow-up.

Your Lip Lift Journey from Canada: From YYZ to Istanbul, Step by Step

Travelling for a lip lift should feel organized, not improvised. The procedure itself may be short, but international surgical care requires planning: consultation, flights, hotel recovery, incision checks, fit-to-fly clearance, and virtual follow-up after you return home.

Our patient journey is designed for Canadians who want clarity before committing. You should know what happens before you fly, what happens in Istanbul, and what support continues after you land back in Canada.

Step 1: Virtual Consultation from Canada

Your journey begins with a virtual consultation and photo assessment. We review your philtrum length, upper lip shape, mouth corners, tooth show, smile pattern, nasal base, previous filler history, and facial proportions.

You will receive a technique recommendation only after this review. Some patients are better suited for a bullhorn lip lift. Others may need a corner lift, filler correction, lip flip, or no surgery.

Step 2: Tailored Clinical Plan and Quote

Once candidacy is confirmed, we prepare a tailored clinical plan. This includes the recommended technique, expected recovery timeline, hotel stay, airport transfers, and follow-up schedule. We also explain what is included and what is not.

We do not want Canadian patients to face surprise fees after arrival. Your quote is reviewed before you book travel. Canadian-dollar pricing shown for planning clarity; your coordinator will confirm the final payment details before booking.

Step 3: Booking Flights to Istanbul

Canadian patients commonly travel through Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, or connecting airports. Flight schedules change, so we recommend checking current routes directly with the airline before booking. Turkish Airlines maintains booking pages for Canadian routes to Istanbul, including Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

For an isolated lip lift, many patients plan a shorter stay than they would for facelift or body surgery. If your lip lift is combined with rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, or another facial procedure, your Istanbul stay may be longer.

Step 4: Visa and Entry Planning

Canadian ordinary passport holders are currently visa-exempt for touristic travel to Türkiye for up to 90 days within the permitted period. Rules can change, so verify entry requirements before booking flights, especially if you are a dual citizen or hold a non-Canadian passport.

Your passport should also be valid well beyond your travel dates. Airlines and border officers may apply additional checks. We recommend confirming your passport validity and travel documents early.

Step 5: Arrival in Istanbul and VIP Transfer

When you arrive in Istanbul, our team coordinates private VIP transfer to your hotel. You do not need to navigate transport while tired from a long-haul flight. This helps reduce stress before surgery.

Our clinical location is in Levent, one of Istanbul’s central medical and business districts. You can learn more about the facility experience on our Istanbul clinic page.

Step 6: In-Person Consultation and Final Marking

Before surgery, you meet the surgical team in person. Your surgeon reviews the plan, confirms the technique, examines your smile and lip movement, and answers final questions. The marking is performed with your anatomy in mind, not from a fixed template.

This is also the time to raise any last concerns about scars, tooth show, gum exposure, filler history, or return travel. Surgery should not proceed until you understand the plan clearly.

Step 7: Procedure Day

An isolated lip lift is usually performed under local anesthesia and takes about 45 to 60 minutes. You are monitored during and after the procedure. Once our team confirms you are stable, you can return to your hotel with written instructions.

If your lip lift is combined with another procedure, the anesthesia plan and observation period may change. Combined plans are confirmed before booking so your recovery window is realistic.

Step 8: Hotel Recovery and Early Follow-Up

The first few days focus on swelling control, incision care, soft foods, and rest. Your coordinator remains available for practical questions, and your surgical team monitors healing. You should avoid smoking, vaping, straws, heavy exercise, and wide mouth movements during early recovery.

Follow-up is scheduled before you leave Istanbul. Sutures are checked, swelling is reviewed, and your fit-to-fly readiness is assessed.

Step 9: Fit-to-Fly Clearance

Fit-to-fly clearance depends on your incision, swelling, comfort, and whether you had combined procedures. Many isolated lip lift patients can be considered for return travel around the first week, but clearance is individualized.

Before your flight, we review hydration, incision care, medication timing, and what to do if swelling fluctuates after travel. For a broader travel overview, visit our Canadian patient journey guide.

Step 10: Follow-Up After You Return to Canada

Your care does not end when you leave Istanbul. We continue virtual follow-up at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. These milestones are important because swelling settles early, but scar maturation takes much longer.

You can send photos securely for review. If a local assessment is needed, we provide documentation that you can share with your Canadian family physician or appropriate local clinician.

Lip Lift Surgery Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

What is the difference between a lip lift and lip filler?

A lip lift shortens the philtrum and lifts the upper lip. Lip filler adds temporary volume. If your main concern is a long space between the nose and upper lip, filler may make the lip look heavier without correcting the real issue.

Is a lip lift the same as a lip flip?

No. A lip flip uses botulinum toxin to relax the upper-lip muscle and create mild outward rolling. It is temporary and subtle. A surgical lip lift removes skin under the nose to create a lasting change in upper-lip position.

Will I have a visible scar under my nose?

A bullhorn lip lift creates a scar under the nose. The goal is to hide it in the natural nasal-base crease and support it through careful closure and aftercare. Early redness is normal, and scar maturation can take several months.

Is a lip lift permanent?

Yes, a lip lift is considered permanent because the removed skin does not grow back. Your face will still age naturally. Skin quality, dental support, sun exposure, smoking, and genetics can influence how the result looks over time.

Does OHIP, MSP, AHCIP, or RAMQ cover a lip lift?

In most cases, no. A lip lift is considered an elective cosmetic procedure, so Canadian provincial health plans such as OHIP, MSP, AHCIP, and RAMQ generally do not cover it. Patients should confirm directly with their provincial plan if they believe they have a functional or reconstructive indication.

How much does a lip lift cost in Toronto or Vancouver vs Istanbul?

Private lip lift pricing in Toronto and Vancouver commonly falls in the CAD $4,500–$6,000 range, depending on surgeon, facility, anesthesia, and follow-up structure.
At AKM Clinic, technique-level pricing ranges from CAD $2,750 to CAD $4,100 depending on the type of lip lift recommended. Canadian-dollar pricing shown for planning clarity; your coordinator will confirm the final payment details before booking.

Does Canadian travel insurance cover complications from elective lip lift surgery in Turkey?

Many Canadian travel insurance policies exclude elective cosmetic surgery and complications related to it. You should review your policy carefully before booking and ask the insurer direct written questions.

To reduce this concern, AKM Clinic provides complimentary complication insurance for all patients. This is separate from standard Canadian travel insurance and is designed to add an extra layer of protection around your surgical care. Your coordinator will explain the coverage terms, limits, and required documentation before you confirm your booking.

What is a botched lip lift, and how is it avoided?

A botched lip lift may involve over-lifting, too much tooth or gum show, nostril-base distortion, asymmetry, or a widened scar. The best prevention is conservative measurement, proper candidate selection, careful scar placement, and a surgeon who is willing to recommend against surgery when anatomy is unsuitable.

Will a lip lift show too much of my teeth or gums?

It can if the lift is too aggressive or if the patient already has high gum show. This is why we assess your smile before surgery. The goal is a small, natural increase in upper tooth show, not a tense or over-lifted mouth.

How long is lip lift recovery?

Most swelling is strongest during the first few days. Sutures are usually checked during the first week. Many patients feel more socially comfortable within two to four weeks, while scar maturation continues for several months.

Can men get a lip lift?

Yes. Men can be good candidates when the philtrum is long or the upper lip has rolled inward with age. The goal is usually more subtle than in some female patients, with careful attention to avoiding an overly feminized or over-filled look.

Can I combine a lip lift with rhinoplasty or lip filler?

Yes, but only when the combination makes anatomical sense. Lip lift and rhinoplasty can improve nose-lip profile harmony. Lip filler may be added later for volume or definition after healing. We avoid doing more than necessary.
