The Patient's Goals
By her early fifties, this international patient’s face had begun to descend in two places at once: the brow pressed down on the upper lids, hooding the eyes, while deepening nasolabial folds and early jowls blurred the lower face. The combination read as permanent tiredness. She wanted both addressed together, the balanced approach Canadian patients in their fifties often look for. We planned a deep plane facelift paired with a brow lift.
Surgeon's Expert Approach
Two principles guided the surgical plan: lift the brow to its natural height, and reposition the mid-face from the deep plane.
- temple-and-brow lift for the eyes: Through hidden incisions in the hairline, we elevated the descended brow to relieve the weight over the eyes, treating the cause of the hooding rather than removing eyelid skin.
- Deep plane lower-face lift: Releasing the ligaments beneath the SMAS, we raised the drooping cheek fat pads vertically to soften the nasolabial folds and rebuild the jawline without skin tension.
- post-operative recovery suite: She completed recovery with HBOT and LLLT to limit swelling and bruising and support smooth healing.
